Resolutions I guess?

Today started off kind of okay. I wasn't able to stay up late enough to watch the ball drop but I did wake up early enough to scream at the Today Show to hurry the fuck up and put the parade on already, which wasn't really that great. Maybe I'm just getting older. I loved the"Life in LA" float though. There was also snow outside which is annoying as hell but pretty to look at.

Today we fixed the holes in the walls at our old apartment and cleaned it. We finished it all up, so we're ready to turn the keys in on the 6th. So bittersweet - first apartment I ever felt comfortable enough calling home.

Then we went to Hastings because Alex got a gift card for the place from his secret Santa. He bought himself a book and got me a lefty calendar!! I already started to fill it up. I'm using it as my tasks calendar for work.

I'm setting goals for myself for 2015, which I guess are New Years resolutions but I still don't believe in those. These are also goals I've kind of had already, but I'll punish myself somehow if they don't happen before the year is over. I'll like, starve myself for a week or something.

• Alex either has to save money to buy his own motorized mode of transportation (a motorcycle or a car) OR propose. I mean, it'll be 5 years and that's insane. I want a damn wedding and children before I'm 30.
• Successfully dye my hair silver, ombre or full. 
• Get my aquarium water fully cycled and complete with an axolotl.

I'll probably think of more throughout this week.

2014!!

Alright I haven't kept up with my 365 blog very well...but MANY things happened this year!!! I finished up the Veterinary Technology program and got my first ever college degree and got a job shortly after. Not my first choice but I still get to work with exotic animals nonetheless, lots of falcons and owls, some iguanas and turtles. Nothing too crazy exciting. Every hedgehog and ferret I've seen on the job has sadly been for euthanasia. I met a lot of dogs and cats I've grown attached to and I have favorite (and least favorite) clients. I love my job.

We also moved into a 1400 sq. ft. house from my tiny 500 sq. ft. apartment. My brother moved in with Alex and I. We had some financial difficulties upon moving in, but it's solving itself and we'll be back to normal eventually. I made like, one trip to California. Hopefully more will come in 2015. I'm already Disneyland deprived. :(

Time for my year in photos!!!

Started the year out with my last semester of the program, which included an exotics class! We got to learn about the animals I actually have interest in learning about.

Started my clinical hours with the city shelter and met cuties like this one.

We had large animal class too! I learned all types of shit about horses and goats...and I met this miniature horse!! Still don't like horses tho.

Ice skated for Jess's birthday for the first time in my life - I'm awesome at it. I picked it up right quick. Probably because I'm Asian.

My only visit to California consisted of visiting the Museum Of Death (how touristy of me)....

...and taking a selfie where the most famous Oscar selfie was taken earlier this year -

at the same place Paleyfest was held - we watched the Parks & Rec panel where Amy Poehler called some people out on their sexism.

We went whale watching with my lil sister and we chilled with some dolphins....

....and we took Zelda to see the beach for the first time in her life!!

Tower of Terror!!!

Of course visited the happiest place on earth (my own happy place [technically this was California Adventure but whatever]).

Went back home and had my last few bittersweet classes of the program.

Jess, Mikaela, & I celebrated our graduation early in Carlsbad Caverns....

...they also too me to White Sands!!! My first visit here...

...where I also learned how to drive stick shift!

Finally graduated...mom and Janne visited :')

I said goodbye to my instructors....

...and started the job they prepared me for. :) 

I met the original black power ranger at comic con (who also told me Alex was a lucky guy to have a girl like me. OH, STOP IT). So flattering.

I COLORED MY HAIR FOR THE FIRST TIME.

Sean visited me finally!! We drank legally together for the first time!

I celebrated Toad's first birthday...he's so big now! And probably not done growing. Dr. Shaffer thinks he might be a Norwegian Forest. His paws are still huge.

I met these assholes (Douglas Fur & Bono) who were abandoned at our doorstep, both sick and dying. Our CSR adopted Doug and another technician adopted Bono and we basically saved their lives. I see them at work every day and Auntie Angelica loves them.

Crystal came to work with us!!! And she brings Luigi with her!

Alex and I dressed up for Halloween for the fiRST TIME IN FOREVER

I moved into this house. Fancy huh?

And I'm already preparing for the new year........ ;D

Highlights of 2013

I'm basing this off pictures in my photo album, since I obviously can't remember things any other way.

So this happened.

Had to say goodbye to my first car,

but my daddy bought it for me, so it doesn't really count, right?

Plus, I never even named it.

So I got Cinderella

I struggled with school...hard. Radiology and A&P <3 p="">

Untypical Valentines Day from my untypical BF.

I quit Krispy Kreme and took a managing position back at the swirl...

and then forever hated kiwis

and I still hate horses.

I finally gave into One Direction (Liam...sigh).

I saw Tyler!!!!! (Completely different types of music, I know.)

I saw axolotls for real for the first time ever,

and was a river queen at both Jemez & Bandelier.

My brother got a red eared slider (his name is Melvin)

Went to CA & hung out with my bitches at Disneyland,

saw Marina in concert,

hung out with my mommy & sister for mother's day,

went the the beach & drank wine on my uncle's boat (made me feel rich for a day),

Alyssa & I modeled our twin Jettas,

then on the way back we were stranded in Flagstaff for 8 or so hours,

and the clock stroke 12 for Cinderella (haha get it)

and my future sister-in-law & brother-in-law got married.

I took Murphy back home to California...

and while I was there I thought, might as well go to the beach again

and Roscoe's in LA!!

I came home (safely this time) and started my clinical hours at an exotic practice.

I was lucky enough to see some sulcata tortoises before hibernation.

I drew blood from Angelo for the first time....

My birthday present at the NM state fair after coming out to Alex about my cotton candy obsession.

Backstory: I never told him about it because when we were just friends hanging out, he told me he thought cotton candy was stupid, "you're paying for spun sugar!!" so to impress him I pretended I thought cotton candy was dumb as hell too. 

Moral: don't give up cotton candy to impress your cynical boyfriend.

It was time to say goodbye to Angelo (5/21/01-9/28/13) ♡

but I was able to channel my grief into these little ones.

I grew especially attached to Toad

and he kept getting bigger,

and bigger,

and biggerrrr.

THEY GOT SO BIG.

Eventually they had to say goodbye to each other and part ways with their adopted parents.

Toad stayed with me :-)

He's best friends with Zelda while Bridgette sulks in the corner.

I became obsessed with Frozen, obviously.

Christmas sucked, because I wasn't able to get hardly anyone anything,

but friends and family understood and I'm thankful for them.

They still got me some cool shit,

I still got to see my cute lil family.

Anyways, this is how I'm gonna spend the rest of the year.

I had to pause and cry multiple times while making this. Even though I still consider this year one of the most terrible of my life, with the worst part being losing Angelo, my best friend for 12 years, there were a lot of good times and a lot of adventures I'm glad I went on. I don't believe in new years resolutions, I believe if you want to do something you shouldn't wait until the new year to start doing it. But I hope 2014 turns out to be way better than this year.
